Objectives
- To provide a framework for assessing economic sufficiency by drawing on evidence from projects in the local economy (West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire) on local food production, micro-energy and energy efficiency, housing and transport.
- To work towards the development of an economy based on economic and environmental security, where local communities can provide for themselves the essential material needs of life, with zero carbon emissions, minimal use of finite resources, and the elimination of all chemical and other pollutants.
- To support campaigns against the globalizing economy, including direct action against the expansion of local airports, coal-fired power stations and nuclear facilities; and to support campaigns against the imperial war machine, including direct action against the American bases in Yorkshire at Menwith Hill and Fylingdales.
